Hi, I'm Eva.
A New York-Hudson Valley based Editorial and Portrait photographer who has been documenting families through my lens for the past 4 years. My mission is to create images that speak to the intimacy of family, the way life interacts with environment and the essence of growing up. Using my intuitive sense and contemplative nature, I weave a story of your family through photographs of simple, life giving moments. My families are open to the creative process of visual storytelling and are looking for photos that unfold in a thoughtful and artistic way.

"When searching for a photographer to capture our first ever family photo session, I wasn’t sure what to look for. I knew that we didn’t want a session that seemed to cookie cutter or was ordinary, but I don’t think I knew exactly what “special” was supposed to look like. I happened to come across Eva’s website online and was immediately drawn in by her framing, picture focus and simplicity that I saw in her work. The photos also seemed to capture the heart of a moment and seemed so real. And I am really pleased and happy to say that we were able to capture that same magic when she photographed our family this past August! Her demeanor was warm and inviting, and made all three of us feel comfortable immediately. I think I was expecting someone a bit older and maybe more directive – I think I assumed someone with her type of portfolio must be all business during a photoshoot. During the session, she balanced knowing what shots she wanted with following the natural flow of our interactions. We had a really fun series with my son Taro playing peek-a-boo around the cherry tree in our backyard. We didn’t tell her that he loved that game, but she uncovered it and had a wonderful series of pictures where he was hamming it up and playfully posing for a series of shots. We couldn’t have planned it if we wanted to! The entire session felt very natural and we felt we were able to get a lot of variety. But it wasn’t until we got our gallery that we actually saw everything as she did. I will admit – I was hopeful but hesitant. We had a few other sessions previously that I didn’t love. But I LOVED the photos! There were so many great moments and great pictures (ones where all of us were smiling genuinely – which is hard to capture with a wriggly 18 mo old!!). We really loved every picture in the gallery, and we couldn’t have been happier. I’ve been procrastinating a bit, but I’m finally putting together our family photo books and doing some large format prints for our house. And this year will be the first ever photo holiday card I’ve ever done! And Eva didn’t know this at the time, but I was expecting at the time of our session. And I’m hopeful we can have her do another family session when our new bundle arrives in early 2016!" ~ Diana

"Eva captured some very special moments in our family session! She was great with my 2-month old - very kind and patient, and got him into some really nice poses that still looked very comfortable for him. This applied to my husband and I as well - she suggested how/where we should sit and stand without being at all pushy and as a result the photos all came out very polished and professional but still candid and natural. The gallery was ready quickly and overall she was very easy to work with. We will always treasure the photos she took!" ~ Eileen
